Current Wattsmart heat pump rebates (2026):

• Air source heat pump upgrade: up to $1,700 cash back
• Dual fuel, ductless, or ground source heat pump: up to $2,000 cash back
• Smart thermostat add-on: up to $100 additional rebate

These are direct rebates — real money sent to you after installation. They’re not discounts applied at point of sale, and they don’t require you to apply before purchasing. You apply after the work is done, with your invoice and product documentation.

Who qualifies for Wattsmart rebates?

• You must be a residential Rocky Mountain Power customer on rate schedules 1, 2, or 3
• The installation must be in an existing home (not new construction — there’s a separate Wattsmart New Homes program for builders)
• The equipment must meet minimum efficiency requirements set by the program
• Your home must be in the Rocky Mountain Power service territory, which covers a large portion of the Wasatch Front from Utah County north through Davis County

Rocky Mountain Power updated the Wattsmart program in early 2026, so if you looked into it previously, it’s worth checking current incentive amounts before making any decisions. The program and its rebate levels are subject to change.

Enbridge Gas ThermWise: Rebates for High-Efficiency Furnaces and More

If your home uses natural gas service through Enbridge Gas (formerly Dominion Energy Utah), you may qualify for ThermWise rebates on high-efficiency heating equipment. These are approved by the Public Service Commission of Utah and are available throughout 2026.

• Dual-fuel system Tier 1 — heat pump only component: $700 rebate
• Dual-fuel heating system — Tier 2 (higher efficiency): $1,200 rebate
• Dual-fuel system Tier 2 — heat pump only component: $850 rebate
• Energy Recovery Ventilation system (with gas heating): $300 rebate
• Residential gas boiler (85%–94.9% AFUE): $400 rebate
• Residential gas boiler (95%+ AFUE): $600 rebate
• Boiler reset control: $100 rebate
• Direct-vent gas fireplace (FE ≥70% with electric ignition): $200 rebate

Rebate applications must be postmarked within 6 months of the installation date. You’ll need your Enbridge Gas account number, service agreement number, and itemized invoice from your contractor.

ThermWise eligibility requirements:

• Active Enbridge Gas natural gas service at the installation address
• Equipment must be new (used, rebuilt, or leased equipment does not qualify)
• Installation must be in an existing home, not new construction
• Must be installed within the Enbridge Gas Utah service territory
• Only one rebate paid per installation; limit of 2 of each measure per household
